At Park Avenue, we believe that local businesses must reinvest and give back to the community that helps them thrive. With success comes a responsibility to support and strengthen the community. Park Avenue has long been an anchor for growth and development in Brooklyn.
Park Avenue supports numerous organizations including the Boy and Girl Scouts, the NYPD’s 73rd and 79th Precincts, the Police Athletic League, the Shirley Chisholm Institute, as well as annual toy drives for neighborhood children.
A large part of Park Avenue’s community support is coordinated with the Gilbert Rivera Charitable Foundation, named in honor of the company’s late founder, Gilbert Rivera. The Gilbert Rivera Charitable Foundation continues his legacy by granting educational scholarships for Boricua College and Medgar Evers College, and by supporting the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and local community summer programs serving the underprivileged.
Park Avenue supports many of the Foundation’s fundraising efforts, including the Annual Golf Outing, Ladies Night Out and Poker Night events. In coordination with the Foundation, Park Avenue also organized a fundraising drive to help Haiti through the American Red Cross and raised almost $15,000 to aid the relief effort.
Park Avenue and the Gilbert Rivera Charitable Foundation are avid supporters of The Maimonides Cancer Center, Brooklyn's first, fully dedicated breast cancer center equipped with the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies. The Gilbert Rivera Pavilion, a wing of the medical center, has been named in honor of Park Avenue’s late founder.
